Is Pulse a subscription?
No. You pay for Pulse once and updates are included. Pulse Online is a separate monthly subscription for the features that connect you with other people — live sessions, friends, chat and cloud projects. You only need it if you want those; everything else in Pulse works without it.
How does the Pulse Online trial work?
The first time you add Pulse Online you get 7 days free. You add a card at the start, and the first £15 is taken when the 7 days are up. Cancel from your account before then and you won't pay anything. The free week is once per account.
Are the plug-ins really free?
Yes. Pulse Acid, Pulse Wave, Pulse Keys and Pulse Shake are free to download and use in any DAW that loads VST3 plug-ins, in music you release or sell. They're also built into Pulse. See the plug-ins.
Does one licence cover Windows and Mac?
Yes. Your licence belongs to your account, not to a computer or an operating system. Sign in on a Windows PC or a Mac and Pulse unlocks there. It runs on one computer at a time: signing in somewhere else offers to move it, and the first computer locks at its next check.
What does the trial leave out?
Exporting (audio, stems, MIDI and Send to Pocket), more than 8 arrangement tracks, third-party plug-ins and collaboration or cloud projects. Everything else — every Pulse instrument and effect, recording, the Audio Editor, saving projects — works. Projects you make in the trial open as they are once you buy.
The trial is one per account and one per computer, for 14 days from the moment you activate it.
How do payments work?
Pulse is sold by Senaudis and checkout is by Stripe. Pay by card, Apple Pay, Google Pay or Link, or choose Klarna or Clearpay at checkout to pay in instalments. Your card details never reach us. As soon as the payment completes, Pulse is on your account — there's no key to copy.
Do I need Pulse Online to work with someone?
For live sessions and shared projects, yes, and everyone taking part needs it, not only the project's owner. Without it you can still send project files and audio the old way. Your own cloud projects stay available to open and download even if your subscription lapses.
Is Pulse: Pocket included?
Yes. Pocket, the phone app for iPhone and Android, comes with your Pulse licence: sign in with the same account and everything in it works, recording and uploading from your phone, and Send to Pocket from Pulse. It doesn't need Pulse Online. Pocket is still being built; it will appear here when it's ready.
Can someone else use my licence?
No. A Pulse licence is personal to the person who bought it, on one computer at a time, and can't be shared, lent or passed on. Each person who needs Pulse buys their own, including everyone you work with in a live session. See the terms.
Can I use copyrighted samples in a live session?
Only if you have the right to share them. Putting audio into a live session or shared project copies it to everyone taking part, and many sample libraries allow you to use their sounds in your music but not to pass the files on. Only share audio you own or are allowed to share. See samples and live sessions in the terms.
Is there a refund policy?
Yes. If Pulse isn't for you, ask within 14 days of buying and we'll refund it in full, for any reason. Pulse Online starts with 7 free days the first time; cancel before they're up and you pay nothing. Your first Pulse Online payment can be refunded within 14 days of it; after that, cancel any time and it runs to the end of the paid month. A refunded licence stops working. See refunds in the terms.
What does Pulse need?
Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit) or macOS 11 or later, any audio device (WASAPI on Windows, CoreAudio on the Mac), and an internet connection to sign in and then at least once every 14 days. Collaboration needs Pulse Online and a connection while live.
